National Sports Council publishes a
fortnightly sports journal known as "Krira Jagat"
meaning "Sports World". This is published from National
Sports Council head office in the capital city Dhaka.
This is intended to apprise sportsmen, sports lovers and
sports organizers of the sports world outside the
country and sports activities at home. This is being
published regularly since 1977. Veteran sports writers
and sports journalists have enriched the magazine with
their valuable contributions. The journal is playing
pioneering rote in the development of games and sports
in the country. This journal in fact is working as a
bridge between the modem sportsworld and the developing
home side. The growing demand of its circulation is an
indication of its importance and popularity. In a
nutshell this is the only nations! sports journal of its
kind not only quenches the thrust of thousands of its
readers but also educates and encourages the youth to be
interested more and more in sports. The magazine is at
present mainly journalism oriented and efforts are being
made to make the journal research oriented.
