4E-5/76/6622- C7S-The Government have been
pleased to create a "Directorate of Sports as an
attached Department of the Cultural Affairs and
Sports Division with immediate effect with a
view to promoting Sports activities in the
country. |
|
Functions of the
Directorate: |
The functions allocated to the Directorate
of Sports are given bellow. |
|
|
(A). Responsibility to prepare
development schemes as well as their execution
in respect of extension and improvement of
sports in primary and secondary schools at
Division, District, Upazilla and Union levels. |
|
|
(B). Responsibility of management and
planning of coaching programmes and holding
Competitions for, schools and college students
and for
development of sports at Division, District,
Upazilla level. |
|
|
(D). Motivation and stimulation for
the growth of sports mentality among the youths
including school and college Student, and
thereby strengthening of the sports movernent by
introducing various programmers arid
tournaments. |
|
|
(E). Supervision organizational and
development activities of Youth Sports Clubs
from Village to District level. |
|
|
(F). Taking active part in observance
of Sports Week in co-ordination with National
Sports Council. |
|
|
(G). Allocation of fnartcial grants
to the educational institutions and youth sports
clubs for oTmmg and financial sports activities
. |
|
|
(H). Rendering services to the Scout
Associations in respect of all thoseactivities
which were previously done by the Directorate of
Physical Education of
the Education Directoratc. |
|
|
(I). Arrangement of Training
programmes and holding of Sports competition for
School, College and Madrasha students |
|
|
(J). Extending full co-operation to
the Children and
Youth in sports activities throughout the
country. |
|
|
(K). All arrangements in respect of
children and youth rallies on the occasion of
National Independence, Victory and other
important days. |
|
|
(L). Proper implementation of all the
development
projects given to the Directorate of Sports by
the
Sports and Culture Division. |
