The nature and the objectives of the "Upazilla
Resource Development and Employment project" and
the "Family Based Employment Programme" are
same. These two were designed for reducing
poverty of the rural l and ness and the poor
people, especially the poor youth. The main
characteristics of these programmes are to
identify the family as a unit of development
activities. The projects attached more
importance to group. The members of each group
are to be blood-related or closed neighbourly-people.
The projects were found most successful and the
two projects were transfered into permanent set
up of the Department under the name," Family
Based Employment Programme" This programme is
being implemented in 82 upazillas. The total
allocation for this programme is Tk.4947.99
